Tambo sits between buyer and workshop with Shield (Trade Assurance), Incoterms, and a freight desk — the Alibaba model, sourced from Latin America.
Incoterms, not surprises
EXW: you collect at the workshop. FOB: the seller delivers to the origin port (Callao, Buenaventura, Veracruz, Santos). CIF: seller pays ocean freight and insurance to your port. DDP: Tambo quotes duty-paid door delivery.
Tambo Shield = Trade Assurance
You never wire the workshop directly. Funds sit in Shield until cargo is tendered, documents match the order (commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, phytosanitary when food), and the milestone is confirmed. Delay or mismatch can be disputed.
Four ways to move a lot
Express (DHL/FedEx) for samples. Air freight for cartons. Sea LCL when you share a container. FCL 20' when volume justifies an exclusive box. Tambo Logistics books the carrier and writes tracking events onto the order.
Documents Tambo files
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading / AWB, and phytosanitary or CITES when the HS code requires it. Missing docs hold Shield funds — they also land in the audit log.
Express courier
5–9 days. Door to door. Best under ~50 kg.
Air freight
8–14 days. Airport plus trucking.
Sea LCL
28–42 days. Shared container, per CBM.
Sea FCL 20'
28–42 days. Exclusive 20' from origin port.
